Sant Jordi 2023

Once again this year we will be able to enjoy the Diada de Sant Jordi, with a day full of activities. There will also be some previous events related to book presentations and music, which are detailed below.

Preliminary events

Monday 17 April, 7 p.m. : EL YOGA DE LA VIDA COTIDIANA, by Cristina Albadalejo
Wednesday 19 April, 7 p.m.: ‘LES NOSTRES MARES’ (Sant Jordi 2023 prize), by Gemma Ruiz
Thursday 20th April
MUSIC, NEUROSCIENCE AND HEALTH CONFERENCE in the Auditori Josep Carreras

5 p.m., Presentation of the book ‘LA MÚSICA COM A EXPERIÈNCIA HUMANA’, by Marc Serra

8 p.m., Experimental concert: THE BRAIN IMPACT OF MUSIC, by the Lully Orchestra of the Conservatori de Vila-seca and the URV Orchestra. A concert in which brain activity will be demonstrated while playing or listening to music.

As a pre-Sant Jordi event, the Sant Jordi Jove (Young Sant Jordi) has been organised for 21st April at the Celler de Vila-seca, an event hosted and presented by Camale-On Escena with Aleix Vidal. As part of this event, there will be the presentation of the book “Cartes Urgents” by Abril B. García, by the Dance Company La Latente and, in addition, Micro Obert for new talents and musical performances by students of the Conservatori de Música, from 18:45 h.

Sant Jordi’s Day

On 23 April, Sant Jordi’s Day, the Castell de Vila-seca and its garden will be filled with events for all ages, with a series of stalls selling roses and books, a reproduction of the Cantata of the town’s schools, board games, performances by the Colla Gegantera i Grallers de Vila-seca and the Esbart Dansaire Ramon d’Olzina, ‘sardanes’ (traditional catalan dance), workshops and children’s shows and the Festa Popular with the Xiquets de Vila-seca and the Petits Pintors de la Agrupació Cultural.

Sculptures with books and street art by students from the Escoles d’Art i Disseny from Reus and Tarragona of the Diputació, will be on display in different areas of the Old Town.
