The Josep Carreras Auditorium is one of Vila-seca’s main cultural facilities and one of the most important music venues in southern Catalonia. Annexed to the Music Conservatory, it has an overall area of 1750m2 that can seat up to 378 people, with two fixed programming seasons, one for spring and the other in winter.
The technical characteristics of the building allow for varied scheduling throughout the year, which is matched to the most cutting edge advances. The lighting, sound and acoustic systems are all excellent and have led to hosting live music performances of diverse styles, from classical to pop.
The auditorium also has an attached hall, named Alcalde Josep Malapeira, which can hold a hundred viewers. This room has a stage and was designed for smaller groups. It is equipped with loudspeakers and recording equipment, as well as acoustics designed especially for chamber music.
