An amazing culinary and wine pairing event
The importance of a food culture on the Costa Daurada is revealed with its extensive agenda of gastronomy fairs and events that are held throughout the year, featuring—naturally—locally sourced and seasonal products.
With regard to Vila-seca, the boom in the gastronomy calendar has had a great impact on the region and led to the creation of the food fair ‘TASTVM Vila-seca: The Wine Pairings of Our Land’, whose purpose is to promote and highlight the value of regional cuisine and wines as an engine for development to promote locally sourced foods and wines and social cohesion.
TASTVM Vila-seca started up in 2017 in the gardens of the Vila-seca Castle with great participatory success. Over 7000 people at each of the editions have savoured our regional wines and cavas, as well as taking part in tastings and watching show cooking sessions while listening to live music.
The culinary offering changes each year, as different restaurants from the surrounding area are chosen to provide tastings from their menus, as well as different wineries from the six designations of origin present in the province of Tarragona.
However, the true added value of this event is the presence and participation of prestigious local chefs. In its first two years, TASTVM was honoured to have Vila-seca chef Eduard Xatruch at the forefront of the celebrations (Disfrutar** and Compartir), as well as other great professionals from the world of gastronomy, including Fran López (Villa-Retiro* and Xerta Restaurant*), Arnau Bosch (Can Bosch*) and Carles Gaig (Gaig*); José Peñín, writer, journalist and founder of the Peñín Guide, and Federico Oldenburg, a journalist and writer specialising in food, wines and spirits.
