The Vila-seca International Short Film Festival (FICVI) has closed the registration period for the eighth edition with 1,140 short films registered, 474 more than last year. The works come from 53 countries and there are 28 productions in Catalan.
The organisers explain that from now on they will be working on the selection process for the finalist short films. During the month of July, the list of works that will compete for the awards of this new edition, which the organisers consider to be “the most successful” in its history, will be presented.
The competition will take place from 13 to 22 October at the Celler in Vila-seca. The FICVI, organised by the Vila-seca Tourist Board, will once again this year be a partner festival in the pre-selection of short films for the Goya Awards. Last year, the short film ‘Amarradas’, by Carmen Córdoba -FICVI 22 Animation Award-, was among the five best animated short films for the Goya Awards and ‘La Entrega’, by Pedro Díaz -FICVI 22 National Award-, was also among the finalists for best fiction short film.
