El Celler de Vila-seca hosts a strategic meeting to promote a new stage of tourism governance in the destination

On May 19, el Celler de Vila-seca hosted a working meeting bringing together representatives from Vila-seca’s tourism sector and key tourism stakeholders from the Costa Daurada to present a new tourism governance initiative promoted by the Vila-seca Municipal Tourism Board.

The event served to share the foundations of this new collaborative working model, aimed at strengthening coordination between public administration, businesses and tourism-related stakeholders, while consolidating a joint strategy to continue positioning Vila-seca, la Pineda Platja as a high-quality, sustainable and competitive destination throughout the year.

The event included speeches by the Mayor of Vila-seca, Pere Segura, and the President of the Municipal Tourism Board, Lluïsa Clavé, who highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors in order to address the current and future challenges facing tourism.

During his speech, the Mayor emphasized the destination’s ability to adapt to new tourism scenarios and stressed that joint work between institutions and businesses is essential to continue creating opportunities and offering high-quality experiences to visitors.

For her part, the President of the Municipal Tourism Board underlined the need to create stable spaces for participation and active listening that enable knowledge sharing, the identification of common needs and the promotion of projects aligned with the destination’s strategic objectives.

The initiative was created with the aim of promoting a more participatory and cross-cutting tourism governance model, based on dialogue, cooperation and the creation of synergies among all stakeholders involved. This new working space seeks to encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences, while also promoting joint actions that contribute to the sustainable tourism development of Vila-seca, la Pineda Platja.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to share perspectives on the evolution of the sector, new visitor habits and the main challenges related to competitiveness, sustainability, digitalization and reducing tourism seasonality. In this regard, participants highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen the destination’s distinguishing values, such as family tourism, wellness, gastronomy, sports, heritage and natural spaces.

Through this initiative, the Municipal Tourism Board reaffirms its commitment to a shared tourism management model, with the aim of building a more cohesive, innovative destination that is prepared to face future challenges through collaboration and shared responsibility among all stakeholders in the territory.
