A promenade designed for people

The new seafront promenade in La Pineda, Vila-seca, represents one of the most significant transformations of the Costa Daurada coastline in decades, with a clear commitment to renaturalisation, sustainability, and the enhancement of public use of the seafront.

The project has transformed the former promenade into a more open, natural space that is fully integrated with its surroundings. Where asphalt once dominated, there is now a wider beach, with restored dune systems and native vegetation that enhance the landscape and help preserve it. This commitment to renaturalisation not only improves the coastal aesthetics but also makes it more resilient to the effects of climate change.

The new promenade has been designed with people in mind. Walking along it is now a more pleasant experience, closely connected to nature, thanks to dedicated pedestrian and cycling paths, wooden walkways, and rest areas that invite visitors to pause and enjoy the moment. The connection between the urban fabric and the beach is now more seamless, providing easy and comfortable access from any point. At the same time, new urban furniture, lighting, service networks, and landscaped areas have been incorporated.

This transformation, with an investment of nearly €9 million funded by the national government, has redefined the seafront according to criteria of quality, sustainability, and landscape integration.

With this new promenade, La Pineda strengthens its position as an ideal destination for family and wellness tourism, offering a more carefully designed, accessible environment aligned with new ways of travelling. A place where the sea, tranquillity, and experience take centre stage all year round.
