05/08/2024PortAventura World presents this year’s Halloween season and with it, its new passage of terror: ‘The Legend of the Cannibal King’. Located in the Angkor attraction, this is a thrilling open-air ride of pure adrenaline that promises both fear and fun. In a circuit with six different scenarios, visitors are guided to the Angkor temple by the underground travel agency ‘Oriental Adventure Expeditions’, which specialises in expeditions to the most dangerous and forbidden places. A tour guide will accompany them to this cursed temple, where the participants will have to overcome various trials and scares to find their way out of the Kingdom of Angkor and thus to safety from the dreaded Cannibal King and his army of monkeys.
The Halloween campaign, which welcomes thousands of visitors every year, will last for more than 50 days, from 21 September to 10 November. During this period, horror and adrenaline lovers can enjoy the unique theming, the thrilling shows specially created for the season and the now iconic terror passages.
Mystery experiences beyond Halloween: ‘Hysteria in Boothill’.
As part of its commitment to innovation and entertainment, PortAventura World has recently presented the first immersive Mixed Reality (MR) experience in a theme park: ‘Hysteria in Boothill’. This revolutionary experience, developed in collaboration with Spatial Voyagers, immerses visitors in a unique paranormal experience where real and virtual elements merge in real time and virtual elements in real time. This technology allows them to see their real environment complete with virtual effects and characters, creating an unprecedented immersive experience. In addition, ‘Hysteria in Boothill’ takes place in a 200 m2 fully themed space, where participants will find several rooms set in a house of the old west.
Shows and horror scenes to delight young and old alike
In addition, visitors can continue to enjoy ‘Halloween Factory’, ideal for music and dance lovers in the Great Imperial Theatre of China; ‘West Blood Frenzy’, set in the Wild West and perfect for the whole family; ‘Horror on the Lake’, which fills the Mediterránea lake with mystery; and ‘El Día de los Muertos’, a tribute to the traditional Mexican holiday. Also available is ‘Trick or Treat’, the first Halloween children’s ride along with the scare zone ‘The Emperor’s Curse’, which stretches from the exit of Polynesia to the Magic Temple.
As for the horror rides, ‘La Isla Maldita’, which goes into Caribe Aquatic Park and will be available from 4 October; ‘REC Experience’, located in the Polynesia area and where you can experience the famous horror saga in your own flesh, and ‘La Muerte Viva’, which will be available from 4 October which is located in La Hacienda and evokes the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead.
Nights at PortAventura World are very special thanks to the grand ‘Halloween Parade’, illuminating the park with vibrant colours and festive music. In addition, there are travelling shows and street entertainment all day long with many famous characters who roam the park providing continuous entertainment for visitors.
