Easter Monday Celebration

Next Easter Monday, 10th April, Vila-seca will celebrate the traditional “Aplec” at the Sanctuary of the Mare de Déu de la Pineda, an event that will include religious events and popular festivities.

Organised by the Parish of Sant Esteve de Vila-seca, the Town Council of Vila-seca, the Amics del Santuari de la Pineda and the Esbart Dansaire ‘Ramon d’Olzina’, the Easter Monday “Aplec” will begin at 10.30 am with the Rosary and the subsequent celebration of the Eucharist. It will continue at 12.00 pm with a Popular Party in which the Esbart Dansaire ‘Ramon d’Olzina’ will participate with their Catalan dances. Finally at 12.30 pm there will be a popular vermouth.

To attend the “Aplec”, the City Council of Vila-seca offers a free shuttle service departing at 9.30 am from the Camí dels Morts de la Plana, at 9.45 am from the Plaza de Manuel de Falla in La Pineda and at 10.00 am from the Plaza dels Països Catalans in Vila-seca (in front of the post office). The return journey will take place from the Sanctuary to the different population centres from 13.45h.

C.F. Vila-seca is organising a lunch at the Sanctuary of the Mare de Déu de la Pineda. Tickets will be on sale in advance at the Bricolage Colomí-Park and the Vanessa bookshop until Saturday 8th of April. All participants will be able to enjoy a menu for 13 euros (11 euros if bought in advance), which will include a paella dish and chicken with cava, accompanied by desserts, bread, wine, water and coffee. The children’s menu costs 7 euros and consists of a single dish, dessert, bread and water.
