20/07/2023The Vila-seca Summer Festival is about to start. It kicks off on Friday 21 July with the Masandmasshow Tour Bus Open Air with DJ Nacho Lascasas, on the Pau Casals promenade in La Pineda. The following day, Saturday, the more traditional events will begin with a castellera performance, the correfoc, the great fireworks display from the Racó beach and the 80s and 90s Disco Party with DJs Pep Sánchez and Sanmarini. On 23 July there will be a display of traditional culture along the promenade and the day will end with a parade with the Txaranga Band Tocats.
The festivities of Saint James in La Pineda will continue with the family show “Vitamina” on Monday 24 July and the following day, Saint James, there will be havaneres and burnt rum in the Parc del Pinar de Perruquet with the Coral Nova Unió from 9 pm.
On Friday 28th July the Festa Major moves to Vila-seca, where the first event for young and old to enjoy will be the small correfoc from the Plaça de les Creus at 8.30 pm. At 10 p.m. the doors of the chill-out space in the garden of the Library will open, as well as on all the other days of the Festa Major until 3 August. In the Parc de la Riera there will be a concert with performances by Amics de Manel and Buhos and, from 11.30 p.m. onwards, the Cubik Space, located in the courtyard of the San Bernat Calvó School, will be open to the public. On this occasion there will be a disco party with Rubén Romero, and on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July there will be a disco party with AMEV. On Saturday 29th July at 10.00 a.m. the Vila-seca Family Race will take place, a family sports obstacle course through the streets of the historic centre. At 6 p.m. the Cercabirra will gather in front of the Castell de Vila-seca and, half an hour later, there will be a castellera performance in the Plaça de l’Església. And in the evening, there will be a big Fiesta Mayor dance with the Krypton Orchestra in the parc de la Riera.
On Sunday the 30th, many of the traditional events of the town festival will take place. A sample are the 15th Speed Painting Competition, the Lightning Chess Tournament, the Swimming Crossing “Playa de la Pineda” at 10.15 am and the route of the vermouth from 12 noon. In the afternoon, the prizes for the Speed Painting Competition held in the morning will be awarded and the main event will be at 8.30 p.m. with the Parade of the Traditional Entourage with festive elements and dances. On Monday 31 July, families can enjoy the family show “Una carretada de cuentos” (A cartload of stories) and in the evening, there will be a Night of Humour by Víctor Parrado with “Buenrollistas”. On Tuesday 1 August, the little ones will be able to enjoy the show “Mujeres valientes” in the Plaça d’Estudi and, in the same place, El Artistre will be the star of the musical night at 22.30 h.
On Wednesday 2 August the Teia Moner Company will present the family show “Trópico”, the group Se’ns va l’olla will perform “Historias cortas en espacios cerrados” at the Celler de Vila-seca at 8.30 p.m. and, finally, the day will end with a night of attic magic with Aleix Vidal in the Plaça d’Estudi. On Thursday 3rd August, Vila-seca’s Festa Major de Verano de Vila-seca will come to an end with a series of early mornings in the historic centre, a mass at 12 noon and, in the afternoon, the performance of the Ball de Sant Esteve at 7 o’clock in the Plaça de l’Església and the havaneres at 8 o’clock in the Plaça d’Estudi. The night will belong to the trabucaires from 10.15 p.m. onwards, when they will start a parade from the Casal Clàudia Padró. At 11 p.m. sharp, the correfoc (fire run) will start with the Ball de Diables (Devils’ Ball) and the Gran Castillo de Fuegos (Great Fireworks Castle) will close the festival at 11.45 p.m. from the Via Máxima.
